Abstract

The contemporary landscape of Islamic education is confronted with multifaceted challenges, particularly in addressing the moral and social crises affecting younger generations. One promising approach to mitigating these issues lies in the internalization of Islamic educational values embedded within Qur’anic narratives, notably the account of Prophet Yusuf in Surah Yusuf. This study seeks to critically examine the pedagogical values articulated in Surah Yusuf, explore their contextual relevance to the complexities of modern education, and propose strategies for their systematic integration into contemporary Islamic educational frameworks. Employing a thematic tafsir (tafs?r al-maw????) methodology, the research analyses primary and secondary sources to identify, categorize, and interpret the moral and educational principles exemplified in the Yusuf narrative. The findings underscore the enduring significance of values such as patience, integrity, trustworthiness, empathy, and visionary leadership, all of which hold substantial pedagogical relevance in fostering holistic character formation. Furthermore, these values provide a normative and practical foundation for addressing the erosion of moral consciousness and the fragmentation of social responsibility in the era of globalization. The study concludes that integrating the Yusuf narrative into contemporary curricula can strengthen the spiritual, moral, and socio-emotional dimensions of learners, thereby enhancing the transformative capacity of Islamic education in the 21st century.
