Abstract

Social change is an inevitable phenomenon in every society, including in the context of education. Education serves not only as a means of transferring knowledge but also as a significant agent of change. In this context, STIT YPI Lahat, as a higher education institution focused on human resource development, plays a crucial role in driving social change in society. This research uses a qualitative approach. The research method is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. Triangulation was used to verify the validity of the data. In an effort to achieve sustainable social change, STIT YPI Lahat has implemented various strategies involving active community participation. Through character education, community service, partnerships, and the use of information technology, the institution strives to create a significant positive impact. Community participation in the social change process is also crucial, as they are not only beneficiaries but also agents of change in their communities. The impact of this social change is clearly visible in the improvement of educational quality, social awareness, economic growth, and strengthening of social networks within the community.
