PERAN GURU PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM DALAM PEMBELAJARAN BACA TULIS AL-QUR’AN (BTQ) DI MI PIAT TANJUNG SETEKO

This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in implementing the Qur’anic Reading and Writing (BTQ) learning at MI PIAT Tanjung Seteko and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors that influence the success of the learning process. This research is motivated by the low ability of students in reading hijaiyah letters, understanding basic tajwid, and writing Qur’anic verses correctly. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that teachers play crucial roles as learning resources, facilitators, classroom managers, demonstrators, mentors, and motivators in BTQ learning. These roles contribute significantly to improving students’ basic Qur’anic literacy. Supporting factors include teachers’ enthusiasm in teaching, exemplary behavior, and cooperation among students. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors consist of limited parental involvement in reinforcing Qur’anic reading habits at home, insufficient learning media, and limited instructional time. The study concludes that the success of BTQ learning requires collaboration between teachers, schools, and families, as well as strengthened learning facilities and more varied and engaging teaching methods.
