Abstract

This study employed Kirkpatrick's four-level evaluation method, a model designed to assess training programs. The model consists of four stages: reaction, learning, behavior, and result. According to Donna M. Mertens and John A. McLaughlin (2004), evaluation is the systematic investigation of the merit or worth of an object for the purpose of reducing uncertainty in decision-making about that object. In this context, evaluation research systematically examines the feasibility or value of a program to reduce uncertainty in decision-making. The object of this evaluation is the implementation of the Rumah Tahfizh Qur’an activities. Program evaluation serves as a series of processes to assess the implementation of the Rumah Tahfizh Qur’an at Pondok Pesantren Raudhatul Ulum, focusing on learning activities in schools and madrasahs. Several challenges require attention, particularly for students at the upper secondary level (Madrasah Aliyah and SMAIT), where high academic demands sometimes conflict with substantial memorization targets. This situation can lead to physical and mental fatigue, potentially decreasing the effectiveness of both memorization achievement and academic performance. Additionally, variations in the quality of tahfizh mentors and the lack of synergy in task distribution and time management among school units remain significant challenges. Stronger collaboration between the Rumah Tahfizh and schools is necessary to create a balanced schedule that avoids overlap and considers students’ psychological well-being.
