Abstract

A key issue in Islamic education studies is how to maintain the continuity of tradition while adapting to socio-technological changes, particularly towards the era of Society 5.0. This article aims to analyze these dynamics by highlighting the relationship between the preservation of classical values ??and the need for renewal of Islamic education. The research uses qualitative descriptive methods through a review of historical sources and contemporary literature. The findings indicate that since the time of the Prophet Muhammad, Islamic education has integrated spirituality and rationality through halaqah (Islamic boarding schools), madrasahs (Islamic schools), and pesantren (Islamic boarding schools), which later developed into modern madrasahs, integrated Islamic schools, and Islamic universities. This integration of scientific tradition and innovation forms the basis for adaptation to the challenges of globalization and digitalization. The main contribution of this research lies in affirming the balance between tajdid (renewal) and muhafadzah (preservation) as a theoretical framework that has not been comprehensively studied in the context of Society 5.0. This analysis is significant because it offers a direction for the development of Islamic education that emphasizes strengthening the values ??of monotheism, morality, and the chain of knowledge, while simultaneously utilizing technology. The article concludes that the future of Islamic education depends on its ability to produce a generation of ulul albab who are intellectual, have integrity, and are adaptive to the changing times.
